Eric C. Schwarz is a librarian focused on business research and analysis, information architecture, knowledge management and instruction. He is a graduate of the Rutgers MLIS (Master of Library and Information Science) program, where he concentrated in business research, information architecture and knowledge management.
Eric is a Customer Service Executive at Dow Jones & Co., for Factiva and Dow Jones Newswires. Eric helps clients with research and account queries, and has led presentations, training sessions and product testing initiatives.
Eric teaches a section of Principles of Searching, a core course in the Rutgers MLIS program. He also works part-time as a Reference Librarian at the Clarence Dillon Public Library in Bedminster, NJ.
During a 2006 internship at Princeton Public Library, Eric answered research questions from customers and from other libraries, redeveloped reporting of electronic database usage, and helped customers use the Technology Center.
Eric joined the Special Libraries Association in 2005. Within SLA, Eric serves as the immediate past president of the New Jersey Chapter and as a member of the Diversity Leadership Development Program Committee. In June 2009 he was honored as an SLA Diversity Leader. From 2007 to 2009 he served as co-convener of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered Issues Caucus. He also has served as Webmaster for the Rutgers Student Group.
